In the mid-90s, Pain Teens mastermind and Houston musician Scott Ayers took the more experimental aspects of Pain Teens -- looping, sampling, and spaced-out guitar -- and brought them to his new project, Walking Timebombs. To me it feels like a trip-hop album fell into a vat with some bad acid and a distortion pedal, and out came this fantastic listen, which is just as fresh and enjoyable as it was back in 1997 when it was originally released on Charnel Music.
